About CakesByCarla:

Before Carla & Elaine, there was CakesByCarla & CosmoBread. Back in 1999, I was making low-fat cakes for my family. My friends and relatives started ordering and soon, I was overworking my single Kitchen-Aid stand mixer till I busted it! I remember making chiffon cakes and beating the egg-whites with a whisk. It was not a good exercise as I recall. I realized I needed more mixers. I also realized I needed to improve on my cake designs, so I took several courses on cake decorating, and consequently, found my passion. In 2000, I started CakesByCarla. For the most part, I self-studied my way to designing and creating beautiful cakes. I always encouraged my clients to brainstorm with me to come up with their own designs. It’s a great learning experience on my part, but more importantly, my clients get the cake of their dreams.

About Cosmo Bread:

I started Cosmo Bread in 2005 borne by a desire to serve quality home-baked products at reasonable prices. I initially sold gourmet breads to friends, and from there, the clientele grew through word of mouth. Before long, I expanded Cosmo Bread’s menu and started making cakes and cookies to broaden my market. Aside from coffee shops and food bazaars, I also made edible party favors for social and corporate events. I am proud to say that though we have grown, we still maintain the home-style goodness that we have become known for.
